The fragrance line of Rei Kawakubo’s nonconformist Japanese fashion house, Comme des Garçons Parfums was launched in 1994 with the tagline, “works like a medicine and behaves like a drug.” Much like Kawakubo’s clothing, CdG Parfums is renowned for its experimental approach, which shows in some of the more unusual perfumes and anti-perfumes the brand produces, including soda and garage-inspired scents. Known, as well, for its collaborations, CdG Parfums has worked with everyone from Pharrell Williams to Monocle magazine over the years.
