As an off-shoot of Sky High Farm, the 40-acre upstate New York sprawl functioning as a non-profit through donations of fresh produce and meat to New York food banks, Sky High Farm Workwear is the playful clothing lineup that marries art with cause. Established over a decade ago by artist Dan Colen, Sky High Farm has been an experimentation in food justice and social consciousness through its commitment to donating 100% of its harvest. Inspired by the younger generation’s interest in supporting community efforts, Colen launched Sky High Farm Workwear in 2020 in collaboration with Dover Street Market and illustrator Joanna Avillez. Featuring the dreamy crescent moon and strawberry motifs, the collection combines whimsy with craftsmanship through organic cotton chore jackets, double knee denim, and loose-fitting sweaters. More delicate pieces come to life through soft cashmere and embroidered silk - all of which are made from dead stock and recycled materials. Grounded, generous, and always artfully finished, Sky High Farm Workwear is reimagining the fashion ecosystem through a new and welcomed lens of equity and consciousness.
