  • Cathrine Saks and Barbara Potts founded their Copenhagen-based womenswear brand in 2014. Growing up together in Copenhagen in the 90’s fostered a deep sense of place, and Saks Potts draws heavily on inspiration found in the city's vibrant lifestyle, food, and design scenes. The city’s culture remains central to the brands DNA, with many of the brand-related happenings still taking place in and around Copenhagen. Saks earned a fashion and design degree from The Scandinavian School of Design, and Potts a degree in art history from the University of Copenhagen. The pair's background coalesces into a tasteful and modern design sensibility, inspired in large part by 90’s pop culture icon Carolyne Bessette-Kennedy, that produces garments intended to become long-lasting staples in the wardrobe of the contemporary woman. The brand has successfully positioned itself as a force to be reckoned with within the space, winning two Elle Style Awards including the Brand of the Year award in 2018. Although strongly influenced by Copenhagen, Saks Potts takes a more playful approach toward the staple minimalism of its contemporaries by fusing modernist themes with bright colors and eclectic prints. Longtime womenswear mainstays such as shearling coats, trousers, and dresses are enlivened with bold colors, infallible tailoring, and top-notch materials that allow the brand to push the boundaries of luxury construction without sacrificing everyday wearability.
