  • The eponymous label of legendary basketball player Michael Jordan, Jordan Brand launched as an official sub-brand of Nike in 1997, building upon the previous success of the Air Jordan line of sneakers that started in 1985 with the Air Jordan 1. The brand’s first endorsers were a handful of the best NBA players at the time including Ray Allen, Derek Anderson, Michael Finley, and Eddie Jones. Its legacy is carried on by professional basketball players such as Chris Paul, Jimmy Butler, Maya Moore, and Kendall Marshall, as well as other athletes such as Derrick Jeter and April Homes. Known for its unmistakable Jumpman logo—based on a photo of Michael Jordan that was shot for the promotion of the Air Jordan 1—Jordan Brand has become one of the most influential athletic sneaker and apparel brands through a combination of Michael Jordan’s accomplishments on the basketball court and Tinker Hatfield’s incomparable footwear designs, which include the Air Jordan 3, 4 and 11, among other models. Jordan Brand continues to stay on the cutting edge of the sneaker market with the re-release of retro colorways, and through collaborations including Virgil Abloh, Kaws, and Dover Street Market.
