  • Ernest W. Baker breathes new life into sartorial traditions of the past. Co-founders and designers Reid Baker and Ines Amorim met while studying at Domus Academy, and after graduation worked with fashion houses including Hader Ackerman and Yung Li before coming back together to found Ernest W. Baker in 2016. The Portuguese menswear label is named after Baker’s own grandfather and channels inspiration from its namesake, films, and the designers’ heritages; Small town Utah and Porto, Portugal. Combining their respective cultural perspectives amd  a fascination with classic cinema results in a design language where iconic vintage details and materials meet contemporary shapes and styling. This unique point of view has earned critical attention, shortlisting the label for the LVMH prize in 2018. The brand’s refined aesthetic continues to shine in collections of precisely tailored double-breasted blazers, colorful knitwear, flared trousers, and accessories that would look equally at home being worn by someone on the cutting edge of contemporary fashion or their grandparents.
